2022 Pinot Noir Clos des Capucins Domaine Weinbach

The Clos des Capucins vineyard, surrounded by the ancient walls of the Capucin monastery, is first mentioned in 890, when Empress Richarde donated it to the monastery of Etival, who then donated part to the order of Capuchin Friars in the early XVII century. The monopole vineyard extends over 5 hectares and consists of a terroir that ripens early and produces fruit-driven wines. Both Domaine Weinbach and Alsace as a wine region are best known for excellent white wines, but superb red wines are made from the Pinot Noir grape. Domaine Weinbach's Pinot Noir Clos des Capucins is an inviting fruity and silky Pinot Noir with plenty of charm but also depth for quiet contemplation. Enjoy in big glasses.
