1985 Maury Millésime 1985 Mas Amiel

Maury is made in the traditional oxidative style. After fermentation and maceration, the wine is stored outdoors in 60-litre glass demijohns for a year, exposing it to sunlight and changing temperatures. This process gives the wine some of the characteristic notes of orange, acacia and nuts, as well as an improved ageing potential. The wine is then aged in large old wooden barrels until it is bottled. The result is a very old Maury, which is characterised by its elegance, notes of cedar, red berries and a touch of coffee, almonds and spice. Old Maury is an excellent companion to chocolate and chocolate desserts, and cheeses especially of the Roquefort type. Also try it with foie gras.
