2022 Sancerre Blanc La Moussiere Domaine Alphonse Mellot

Sancerre Blanc La Moussiere is a true representative of Alphonse Mellot's philosophy that terrior is paramount in wine production. The fields, which are both organically and biodynamically certified, are located high on the Sancerre hillside, planted with old vines with an average age of 55 years, producing less fruit but of higher quality that brings depth and complexity to the final wine. Grown exclusively with Sauvignon blanc grapes, cultivated with great care and by hand, without the use of pesticides or machinery. In the winery, they combine tradition with innovation, using modern methods and techniques. The wine is aged for 2-3 months on the lees in 1/3 new barrels 2/3 steel tanks in the Mellot family's century-old cellars.

Sancerre Blanc La Moussiere is a tribute to the Sauvignon Blanc grape and the Sancerre terroir. It presents itself with a brilliant pale golden color in the glass and an intense aroma of citrus fruits, green apples and a delicate mineral character that reflects the soil's perfect composition of limestone and limestone.
