Condrieu La Bonette
Condrieu is located only a few kilometres from Côte-Rôtie and is one of France's smallest appellations. The soil conditions are very different here and this is where France's best Viognier wines are made. Here the terroir is mostly granite and granite rubble and the soil is so porous that many vineyards are terraced to prevent erosion. As the name suggests, this wine comes from the "La Bonette" plot. Here Rostaing makes a rich and complex Condrieu with a bouquet of lychee, passion fruit and white flowers. The flavour is full-bodied with mineral touches and is one of the appellation's best.
