    Gaisböhl Monopol Grand Cru

    Gaisböhl Riesling G.C. offers a generous bouquet of gooseberry, pear and citrus. The flavour is big, dry and immensely powerful, and you really feel the perfect ripeness of the grapes. The extremely long aftertaste reveals notes of exotic fruit followed by a significant minerality that will obviously only increase as the wine matures. One of Germany's best dry Rieslings!

    The 2017 Gaisböhl G.C. is deep, ripe, fresh and complex on the citrus-scented yet round and concentrated nose. Powerful and intense on the palate, this is a mineral, salty, tight and linear Riesling with volume, structure and length. Still closed but with great talents. Tasted in Wachenheim in December 2019..

    Here is another Bürklin-Wolf G.C. that when tasted from tank in November 2018 defied Libelli's characterization of the 2017s as being temporarily aromatically closed. Papaya and grapefruit on the nose persist as generous, zesty juiciness on a plush, creamy palate, accompanied by a striking sense of chalk suffusion. The bittersweet, chalky finish is seductively sustained. This is the lowest- acid of any Bürklin-Wolf 2017, and also, at just 300 liters, will represent their smallest individual bottling.
